In response to RBS announcing £28 million pay deal for top staff

David Hillman, spokesperson for the Robin Hood Tax campaign, said:

“It’s clear the banks are running amok when the public purse pays for bankers’ bonuses whilst millions are facing job losses and cuts to services.

“The government must bring banks back into the fold by ensuring they pay their fair share back to society. The sector can afford £20 billion more a year which would help those hit hardest by the financial crisis and show that we are truly all in this together.”

Spokespeople from the campaign are available for interview.
