"Filthy Rich" bankers at Barclays AGM

What does a rubber duck have to do with Barclays?

Well yesterday, everything.

As shareholders gathered for Barclays Annual General meeting they were greeted by a couple of jaunty bankers swigging champagne whilst relaxing in a bath full of money. Why were they there? To highlight the fact that Barclays and the banking sector are still getting ‘filthy rich’ at our expense.

We have a trick or two up our sleeve for 2013. 2012 saw at least 11 European countries pushing ahead with a Financial Transaction Tax. But we know we have further to go in the UK, so it's time for some fresh approaches.

What a year! There have been some huge developments for the Robin Hood Tax campaign over the past 12 months, and we couldn't have done it without you. We've had MPs championing the Robin Hood Tax thanks to your pressure, financiers signing up in support, Bill Nighy out in Malawi and the launch of the US campaign. It's certainly been busy in Sherwood.
