In response to the European Banking Authority's report on remuneration

Wednesday, March 30, 2016
For immediate release.

In response to the European Banking Authority's report on remuneration practices and high earners, David Hillman, spokesperson for the Robin Hood Tax campaign, said:

“With the recent count of millionaire bankers in the City now at 3,000, the UK boasts more than three times as many fat cat financiers as the rest of Europe combined.

“This trend for bumper pay packets is getting worse each year and for those on the sharp end of an unfair Budget such astronomical rewards must appear outrageous in the extreme.  The Government needs to rein in such excess – a financial transactions tax would be a good start".
